“ITREB for Eastern Tanzania conducted its first-ever Primary RE Camp on Sunday – January 28th, 2018. This fun-and-learn themed event was held in the serene environments of Upanga Jamatkhana social hall and courtyard and targeted Grades 1-6 Dar-es-Salaam students that hold lower than expected records in accessing religious education. Through this camp it is strategized to get these children towards regularly attending Bayt-ul-Ilm and SFC classes. 33 students from Dar-es-SalaamCentres participated in the camp.
The program covered engaging and interactive activities for the young-ones to have better understanding of our Faith and included the topics of “Islamic values”, “Our Identity as Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims” and “Aesthetics & Beauty in Islam”. The students have expressed their excitement and eagerness for attending more such programs in future- with comments such as: “I wish we could have this camp every Sunday!” and “Thank you for having this camp. I feel I have learned a lot and I hope we can have another one like this soon!”
